Meson are a group of improvising musicians under the misguidance of Bo Meson who tries to impose vocalised disorder by shouting in the background. Our music is largely improvised, setting the scene for Bo's *thoughtful* words! ;-)
A meson is (of course) a boson consisting of a quark and an anti-quark with a strong nuclear interaction; you can hear how well the term fits the band by listening to or downloading any (or all!) of the music tracks here or you can watch any of several albums from the VIDEOS page.
How you categorise it is anyone's guess. Ambient? Ambidelic? Free-form? Improg? Make your own mind up, we prolly won't object to your preferred label! We aim to play thoughtful music, with extensive use of dynamics and rely on our own musical intuition and personal empathy to determine the length and structure of the piece.

We've played alongside Tarana, Spiral Navigators, Mother of Vinegar, Ibly Di, Space Ritual and Xoo at such venues as the Cremorne, Riverside, West Street Live, South Sea, Jackdaw Festival, Tramlines Festival, Walkley Community Centre, etc.
